Israel struck 450 Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip in 24 hours, the military says.

Gaza/Tel Aviv – In the past 24 hours, the Israeli army struck 450 targets in the Gaza Strip that were part of the military infrastructure of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas. According to The Jerusalem Post, an army spokesman informed about this this morning. The army has also stepped up a ground operation in the north of the Gaza Strip, involving additional units. One Israeli soldier was seriously injured, the spokesman said.

Targets hit by the army in 24 hours include Hamas command posts and anti-tank missile launch positions. According to the army spokesman, the ground operation also hit terrorist cells of Hamas, which are preparing rocket attacks on Israel. Hamas has also continued shelling Israel since October 7, most of the rockets are intercepted by the Israeli anti-missile system.

Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari today again called on residents of the north of the Gaza Strip to move to the south. „Hamas hides behind civilians and uses them as human shields,“ Hagari reiterated. „The residents of the north of the Gaza Strip should move to the south, to safety, where they will receive water, food and medicine,“ the spokesman added, adding that the humanitarian aid provided to the area by the United States and Egypt would be expanded.

On Saturday, the army again dropped leaflets from airplanes into the Gaza Strip. „For the residents of the Gaza Strip, the north of Gaza is not safe, it has become a battlefield,“ they say, according to Israeli media.

The Israeli army has repeatedly called on the residents of the Gaza Strip to move south. According to reporters from the BBC, Al-Jazeera and other media, however, rockets are also falling on this area in the south of the zone, which is smaller than Prague and has a population of 2.3 million people.

Humanitarian aid has been arriving in the Gaza Strip through the border crossing with Egypt for only a week, and so far Israel has allowed less than a hundred trucks to enter the Gaza Strip, which, according to humanitarian organizations, is only a „drop in the ocean“. Before October 7, 500 trucks a day were transporting humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, which was already facing a partial blockade.
